Downtown Morehead City Happenings This Week

There’s so much happening this week and weekend in Downtown Morehead City! The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament starts this Friday, June 10th, with the Keli Wagner Lady Angler Event. 6 to 9 PM at the Crystal Coast Civic Center. Tickets are $25 available at the tournament headquarters.
The Captain’s Party is on Saturday, June 11th, 7pm to 11pm, at the Crystal Coast Civic Center. Entertainment by Sleeping Booty. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased at the door after 8pm.

Keli Wagner Lady Angler Tournament

The KWLA Tournament takes place Saturday, June 11th, 8am to 2pm.

Sunday Pig-Pickin’ at the Boathouse at Front Street Village

The Sunday Pig-Pickin’ is at the Boathouse at Front Street Village on June 12th, from6pm to 9pm. Tickets are $20.00

Downtown Moreheard Alive at Five Concert

On Friday, June 17th, after the Alive at Five concert, James Wesley plays at the Big Rock Landing. Also featured are the Castaways. Concert is free and goes from 8pm to 11pm.
Also on Friday, June 17th, Soul Psychedelique takes the stage at Alive at Five, at Jaycee Park, from 5 PM to 8 PM for a free, family friendly concert. No coolers allowed, beverages will be available.

Awards Banquet

Awards Banquet takes place on Saturday, June 18th, 7pm to 10pm, at the Crystal Coast Civic Center. Tickets are $30

Plein Air Show at the Carolina Artist Gallery

Capturing Nature’s Color and Light, a judged plein air show on exhibit from May 28-July 9 is open to all artists. The opening reception will take place at the Carolina Artist Gallery, 800 Evans Street, on June 4th from 5-7pm. For more information, go towww.carolinaartistgallery.com

Downtown and Around

Have you heard of Downtown and Around? It’s a daily, public transportation route hosted by the Carteret County Transportation System. It’s an inexpensive alternative to driving! For times and bus stops go to www.carteretcountync.gov and click services, then transportation.

The Train Depot

If you’re thinking about using the Train Depot for any kind of event in the future, it’s not too early to call us at the DMCRA. Weekends and certain dates are already being booked for 2015. The rates are extremely reasonable: $40 an hour for evenings and weekend. $30 an hour Monday thru Friday until 5pm.
