October 18 – Swansboro Halloweenie Roast
[ 5:30 PM ] Swansboro Parks and Rec will host its 2nd Annual Halloweenie Roast. October 23 – Pink-a-Pumpkin for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
[ 6:00 PM ] Did you know that October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month? You can help the Swansboro Parks and Recreation Center raise awareness for Breast Cancer by “pinking” a pumpkin. $10 per person, a portion of the proceeds go to the Susan G. October 25 – Emerald Isle Halloween Carnival
[ 6:00 – 8:00 PM ] Fun for the whole family includes creating a glow in the dark mural, face painting, liver toss, hanging donut eating contest and more! Admission is 2 bags of candy per child. October 25 – Emerald Isle Halloween Carnival Costume Contest
[ 7:00 PM ] Judging will take place at 7pm sharp at the Emerald Isle Parks and Recreation Halloween Carnival! You must register to participate. Registration opens on October 20th and closes October 25th at 6:45pm. Forms can be picked up at the community center or on the website. Completed forms should be turned in at the community center. Three age groups will be judged in categories to include spookiest, silliest, most creative and favorite over-all. October 25 – Fright Night at the Maritime Museum
[ 5:30 – 8:00 PM ] Coastal ghosts and legends come to life for the 6th annual “Fright Night” at the North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort on Friday, Oct. 25. Dress in costume, bring family and friends, and enjoy an evening of maritime lore and entertainment. The Museum stays open late, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., to offer a full array of Halloween activities for all ages. Fright Night provides something that appeals to all ages, from haunted exhibits, to kid-friendly games and waterfront storytelling. “Fright Night” admission is $6 for adults, $3 ages 18 and under. - Haunted Museum Tour – With the help of the East Carteret High School Drama club, Museum exhibits once again come to life. You might bump into a few characters from the past!
- Not-so-scary Games – Little ghouls and goblins can challenge each other to games that delight instead of fright.
- Halloween Crafts – Create your own Halloween decorations.
- Seaside Spooky Stories – If you dare, gather around the Museum’s Watercraft Center to hear tales of maritime misfortune. Feel the breeze – or ghosts flying by – in this eerie waterfront setting.

October 25 – North Carolina A-Scare-ium Costume Party for Grown-Ups
[ 7:30 – 11:00 PM ] Masquerade among marine life and eat, drink and be scary at the North Carolina Aquarium A-Scare-ium Halloween costume party for grown-ups. The witching hours are 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25. Beverages, food, music, dancing, games of skill and haunting décor add up to a howling good time.
A pair of dueling piano players, New York, NY delivers a bewitching brew of music and comic entertainment with a request-driven, sing-along, dance-along repertoire. Join the action or sit back and enjoy one of the most popular nightclub shows in the nation.
Costumes are required so dress for success to win great prizes for great disguises – the best wins a Lookout Adventures fishing trip for up to six people. Beach getaways, fine-dining and other goodies go to good get-ups also.
Also, help yourself to hors d ‘oeuvres by Floyd’s 1921 Restaurant. Enjoy beer from Rail-house Brewery or wine from Somerset Cellars, for sale by the glass (cash only). Look for games of skill and other fun entertainment. Advance tickets are $15 each or two for $25, available online or at the Aquarium. Tickets at the door are $20 each. Minimum age to attend is 21.
October 25 – “Experience the Fear” at Morehead Manor
[ 7:30 PM – 12:00 AM ] Experience the Fear at Morehead Manor is a very scary haunted house experience held at the Crystal Coast Civic Center. Tickets are $10 per person and the event is Rated PG13, not suitable for young children! October 26 – Seaside Cinema Halloween Movie Night
[ 5:30 PM – 11:15 PM ] Don’t miss Seaside Cinema Halloween Movie Night at the Atlantic Beach Circle. There will be face painting and a kids’ costume contest at 5:30 PM, “Monsters Inc” rated G at 6:30 p.m., “Mutilator” rated R at 9:00 p.m. Bring beach blankets/chairs. For details call (252) 726-2121.
October 29 and 30 – Trick or Treat Under the Sea at the Aquarium
[ 5:00 – 8:00 PM ] The North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores offers a bewitching evening of sweets and treats with the annual Trick or Treat Under the Sea on the evenings of Tuesday, Oct. 29 and Wednesday, Oct. 30. Trick-or-treating headlines each night, as little ghosts, goblins, creatures and characters load up on goodies at decorated booths sponsored by local businesses. Roving costume connoisseurs tag stand-out disguises for special prizes throughout both evenings. Also on the fun agenda: underwater pumpkin carving demonstrations, otters playing with jack o’ lanterns, face-painting, a “goo lab” and other Halloween hi-jinks with an aquatic twist. Ticket sales at the door are 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. each night; $8 per person; $7.20 for members; ages 2 and under are admitted free. Buy advance tickets online!
October 31 – Emerald Isle Trick or Treat
