Christmastime along North Carolina’s east coast is a magical time. It all begins immediately after Thanksgiving with Emerald Isle’s Christmas Parade and the Swansboro Floatilla later that evening. It’s such a treat to be on the Crystal Coast during the Christmas season!

Saturday, November 28th –

The Town of Emerald Isle Christmas Parade is at 3 p.m. Saturday, November 28.  Lighting of the Christmas tree at Merchant’s Park, refreshments and caroling follow the parade.  Call 252-354-6350.

The Swansboro Flotilla begins at 6 p.m. on the downtown waterfront. For more information call: 910-326-7370

Friday, December 4th –

This year’s Festival of Lights event kick off on December 4th with Emmanuel Baptist Church’s Walk to Remember, in Cedar Point. Travel back in time to the little town of Bethlehem to the manger where Jesus is born. Additional dates for this amazing experience are December 5th, and 11th and 12th.

Saturday, December 5th –

Dog Christmas Costume Contest and Parade at 12:00pm – 1:00pm in the Lowes Foods Parking lot in Cape Carteret.  Parade your pooch in full costume. Thank you to Brigadoon Animal Hospital and Jaded Paws Rescue for sponsoring.

Candy Cane Lane, White Oak Church of God: 5054 Highway 24, Newport, North Carolina 28570 – Children’s festivities including legend of the candy cane, photo with Santa Claus nativity, crafts. White Oak Church of God is located in Bogue on Hwy 24.

Lights of Love Luminaries, 6 – 9 PM in Megan’s Bay. Drive through and see all the beautiful luminaries in place by the Croatan High School Hospice Helpers. This fundraising event is for the Crystal Coast Hospice House.

Santa will be on the Beaufort Waterfront from 11:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. and the Beaufort Christmas Parade is at 11:00 a.m. with tree lighting and Christmas music to follow.

The Crystal Coast Christmas Flotilla, sponsored by the North Carolina Maritime Museum, leaves Morehead City at 5:30 p.m. and arrives in Beaufort about 6:15 p.m.

The Atlantic Beach Christmas Parade is at 6 p.m.  Santa will meet kids afterward at the A.B. Fire Department.

Community Christmas in Davis is at 6 p.m. Santa will be at the Scout Hut afterward for tree lighting and refreshments.

Sunday, December 6th –

The Newport Christmas Parade is at 3 p.m.

Monday, December 7th –

Entries for the Gingerbread House Competition and Display close on Monday, December 7.  Sponsored by the Crystal Coast Hospice House.  Go to www.cchhnc.org or contact Kyra Moore at 252-241-4613 or nomoore@ec.rr.com.

Saturday, December 12th –

Visit with Santa at the Historic Octagon House in Cedar Point. Children will have an opportunity to tell Santa what they want for Christmas and have their photo taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus!

Scavenger Hunt and Local Business Tours, throughout Cedar Point, Cape Carteret and Bogue. Great fun!

Trees on the Green, at the Cape Carteret Aquatic Center gives visitors the opportunity to walk or drive through a winter wonderland of decorated Christmas trees.

Adopt a Child for Project Christmas Cheer
