SHEETZ Thanks Local Heroes

This is a sponsored post. I was invited to attend the Sheetz Grand Opening in Conover, NC, in exchange for experiencing this new location, sampling the menu items and compensation. The opinions here are my own and an honest account of my experience.

Grand Opening

Last month, I was invited through the NC Blogger Network network to attend a grand opening. It was a new SHEETZ convenience store and gas station in Conover, North Carolina, on April 15th,  and a day for thanking Local Heroes, which highlighted first responders in the community.  Anyone who visited with an ID or in uniform was given a free Made To Order (MTO)  sandwich – all day. I saw firefighters, EMTs, police officers, and even a few sheriffs while I was there. It was truly an amazing day, and I was delighted to see so many of the local hometown heroes. Props to SHEETZ for choosing a special day to thank them!

When I heard that there was a Grand Opening Celebration, I jumped on the opportunity. I have traveled across the entire state of North Carolina, but never stopped anywhere on the mountain side. And thus my journey began!

Arriving at Sheetz

I arrived at the new Sheetz location in Conover right at noon time. The parking lot was packed with customers filling their tanks. I quickly made my way inside, excited to get a first hand look at this brand spankin’ new location! Once inside, I was introduced to a delicious treat that I didn’t know had been missing from my life… Frozen Hot Chocolate. One word: YUM. My kids would have gone crazy for this! Outside the local radio station, K104.7FM, played and had 600 Coca- Cola tickets to give away and tons of other free goodies. Did I mention I am a huge Coca-Cola fan?

Whenever I travel for business, I like to stop at Sheetz to fill up and grab a quick bite to eat. The quality and the service is top notch. The newest location in Conover, North Carolina, is right off of I-40. The actual address is 1819 Fairgrove Church Rd SE for those who want to venture to this new location in person! I can promise it won’t let you down. Now on to more goodies and special features about this SHEETZ location…

ice cream stationsSoft Serve Ice Cream

Customization for your ice cream? What kid (or adult) wouldn’t love that. I found out that there are currently less than 50 locations that have soft serve stations, but was pretty happy that the Conover location was one of the lucky few to offer it at the moment. It was a treat to experience.

Freshly Ground Coffee

Sheetz continues to move forward with providing awesome customer experience – so at the new Conover location, they have coffee grinders so that you can see the beans being ground, ensuring you get a fresh cup of Sheetz Bros. Coffeez every time. Great stuff. Once again, I was impressed.

Expanded Bathrooms

We all know how a nice, clean bathroom is when you’re mid-road trip. Even more so if you’re traveling with the Mrs. and the kids! Sometimes that sketchy bathroom with toilet paper covering the floor just doesn’t cut it. You’ll be pleased to hear that SHEETZ has extremely clean restrooms, and this particular location in Conover even has expanded bathrooms. That’s a win for everyone.

And in case you’re wondering all SHEETZ locations have clean, nice sized bathrooms, but this location (Conover) has even bigger ones to accommodate 24/7 traffic. These folks really do think of everything!

Sheetz menuGreat Menu Items

Let’s talk about food. You definitely don’t want to miss out on SHEETZ food fun! Not only is SHEETZ  one of America’s fastest growing family-owned convenience store chains, but their menu of fresh, made-to-order food rivals any fast food restaurant, using only the highest quality ingredients. Did you know that you can order online ahead of time? You can also save your personal options for an added convenience. That’s good news for those of you who like special orders.

Lounge Area

With a new store location comes a brand new sitting area with big screen televisions and plenty of space to sit and relax with free Wi-Fi access (a must of course). It’s always nice to have the option to stretch your legs and relax a bit before you get back out there on the open road. Another cool feature that I noticed at SHEETZ Conover was the walk-in beer cooler for those Super Bowl parties or NASCAR tailgating events.

SHEETZ

Make SHEETZ Your Go-To Gas Station

I was so impressed with the store as soon as I walked in the door. The enthusiasm of the employees and the customer service was top notch. The manager at this location, Josh, was very accommodating as well. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to attend this SHEETZ grand opening, and happy to have been given the opportunity through the North Carolina Blogger Network.  If you have a chance, be sure to check out the SHEETZ location nearest you!

Upcoming Openings

Stay  tuned! SHEETZ  is coming to Park West Village in 2016! They will be located on the corner of Morrisville Parkway and Bristol Creek Drive, so mark your calendars fellow SHEETZ lovers!
